Prepare for IELTS in a week
Suitable for whom? Those who already have a confident level of the language: speaking without long pauses, thinking in English, joking - or at least trying to. And of course for those who have already taken the exam and got a good result.
Pros. You can choose energy-saving preparation mode: devote one day to each section and spend the rest on Netflix - that's listening practice, right? When you know the language well enough, many of the tricks in the exam are easier to grasp.
Cons. It happens: a person registers for the test after a week and while preparing realises that there are gaps in their knowledge - either about the test or about the language in general.
What to focus on. I always tell my students: any test is testing how well you know that particular test. So when time is limited, I advise you to focus on the specifics of the exam:
study the strategies available for listening and rapid reading
Map out the basic types of essays.
memorize a set of academic phrases.
choose the most flexible stories in your life for the speaking part.
prepare for IELTS in one month
Who is suitable? There are lots of options here:
those with excellent language skills: have a good vocabulary, advanced grammar and confidence
those who are less mature in English, but have a great motivation to make the leap and learn more in a month than others do in a year.
those who want to take IELTS several times - and have a month before the first test
Pros. You won't get bored preparing for the exam in four weeks - you can treat this short period as a game, divide it into levels and pass them qualitatively. Time enough to repeat Perfect, and a couple of hundred words to run through the essay, and their own write them just 50 pieces.
