1.) Foxglove, a common name for the plant genus βDigitalisβ. Folk myths insinuated that foxes wore the flowers on their paws to silence their movements as they stealthily hunted. The woody hillsides where the foxes made their dens were often covered with the flowers. Foxgloves have been used in medicine to treat conditions of the heart but are also toxic, and consumption can even lead to death.
