Hailing from the northern suburbs of NYC, Anthony J. “Curly” Mauro delivers an acoustic/synth driven style of pop-punk known for it’s catchy hooks, relatable lyrics, and an energetic stage presence that’s gotten him from coffee shops to being the opening act for guardin, Carousel Kings, Boys of Fall, Handguns, and other major acts in the scene. A multi-instrumentalist, he played guitar, drums, bass, ukulele, and keys on his latest LP H.O.P.E. a concept album with a double acronym and transitioning songs. Skyrocketed by singles Fountain of Youth (Bonfire Song) and Stickers on Cars, both becoming his first songs to reach 10k streams each. A tour was planned for the album in spring of 2020 but had to be canceled due to Covid-19.
Mauro has deep roots in the local music scene of Nyack, NY from organizing live events, hosting a radio show, and singing in a locally notable pop-punk band as a teenager. These roots have always been his back bone in his pursuit as a solo artist. He released his debut album L.I.F.E. in Dec 2015 followed by The Insomnia Files EP in 2017. He spent most of 2016-2018 spontaneously touring the east coast and Midwest playing mostly coffee shops, bars, house shows, and small festivals promoting these releases. Songs like warHouse, I Have No Idea, and Don’t Mind If I Scream have helped sow his seeds and grow a fanbase overtime. 2019 saw a new level of success of Curly as he begun opening up for national acts and premiered on a major radio station, leading the release of his LP H.O.P.E. that year to exceed expectations and become his most popular release to date. He plans on getting back to playing shows once it is safe to do so again.
